Seniors and Families


Blindman Handivan Society
Transportation for local and out of town seniors and/or disabled persons to various appointments and places around town, as we as taking them to the Red Deer Hospital or wherever there is a need to go. Please call for an appointment.

Rimbey Curling Club
The Rimbey Curling Club has seniors curling on Thursday mornings and a Seniors Bonspiel in mid-February.  Striker's Alley offers seniors bowling on Monday and Tuesday afternoons and Wednesday mornings.

Senior's Drop in Centre

We provide a place for Floor Curling (4 lanes) and play card games such as whist, crib, 500 and bridge. We host a Senior’s dance every Tuesday evening between September and June. The Centre is for rent to groups for anniversaries, weddings, and also lunches for funerals, birthday parties, Christmas parties and other events.

Alzheimer Society

Alzheimer/Dementia Drop In Care Parnter Support Group

Where:      Rimbey Provincial Building, FCSS Board Room, 5025 55 Street, Rimbey, Albreta

When:       4th Tuesday/month

Time:        10:30 - noon

This is a drop-in support group for care partners, allowing them to meet with other care partners who are experiencing similar situations. Care partners will have a chance to connect with others and share what is going well and not so well, while talking about any other topics or questions.

This group is concerned with the issue of violence in the community. This includes Domestic Violence, Bullying & Suicide. In order to facilitate prevention, education may be the first step.
