Mayor Rick Pankiw 

Rick is entering his fourth term as Mayor. After a successful career in insurance/financial services, Rick chose to give back to the community he loves by serving in local government. He looks forward to working with the new Council to continue delivering positive results for the residents of the Town of Rimbey.

Councillor Lana Curle

Lana is entering her third term as Councillor. Lana was born and raised in Rimbey, After a career in health care, she retired and chose to remain involved in her community through her seat on Town Council. She is very interested in community engagement and collaboration to create the synergy that can result in great outcomes.

Bonnie is in her first term as a Councillor. She is proud to call Rimbey home. Having raised her family and now her grandchildren in Rimbey, keeps her rooted in the community. She values the strong sense of connection that makes Rimbey a special place.

Mathew is a Councillor for the second time. Mathew and his wife, Ruth, moved to the Rimbey area in 2004 and into town in 2010. He was first elected to Council in the fall of 2013 and served until 2017. Mathew valued the learning experience gained during his time on Council and hopes to use that knowledge to serve the citizens of the town once again.

He describes himself as fiscal conservative and a progressive independent thinker. Mathew is also a strong team player who believes in supporting the decisions of Council, even when he may not personally agree with the outcome of the vote.

Jeff Johstone, prior to being elected this year, was nominated by acclamation and sat on council for the past year. This will be his first full term as an elected official. Jeff is looking forward to working with council, administration, businesses, and residents to learn, educate, and support the town and community. Prior to this, Jeff was previously in municipal government and in the Engineering Land development field. Jeff’s personal interests are golfing, camping, curling, and spending time with friends, family and grandchildren with his wife Janice who is a long-term Rimbey resident.
